About LaDonna Olson

LaDonna Olson is a Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO). She is certified by the American Board of Opticianry (ABOC) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLEC), and she is a Fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry (FNAO). LaDonna is originally from southern Indiana.

She has more than 23 years of experience working with optometry practices and multi-physician ophthalmology groups. That background spans two kinds of practice, and it shapes how she works with patients and doctors.

What a dispensing optician does

As a dispensing optician, LaDonna is the person who turns your prescription into glasses you enjoy wearing. First, she measures how the frames sit on your face. Then she explains your lens options in plain words. When your glasses are ready, she checks the fit, so they feel comfortable from the first day. If something pinches or slips later, bring them back and she will adjust them.

Not sure which lenses are right for you? Bifocals, trifocals, progressives and Transitions® lenses all do different jobs. For example, a bifocal has a visible reading zone, while a progressive changes power smoothly. LaDonna is glad to walk you through each one without pressure, and she will answer as many questions as you have. She also explains how long it can take to adjust to a new lens type, so you know what to expect in the first days.

Working with the whole team

LaDonna works alongside Dr. Russell and our optician Ibrahim Salman. After your exam, Dr. Russell gives you your prescription, and the optical team helps you turn it into frames and lenses. Because the team works in one office, a question about your glasses can reach the right person quickly.

Our optical keeps thousands of frames in stock, including prescription sunglasses. The on-site lab makes many glasses in about an hour, depending on your prescription and lens choice. We also repair and adjust glasses, so ask her about that too.

Remember, your prescription is yours, and you decide where to fill it. If you do choose us, we are glad to help. Call (352) 399-5412 or stop by 2478 Burnsed Blvd in Pinellas Plaza, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
