Care for 1-hour optical lab in The Villages, FL. We cut and finish lenses in our own lab, behind the optical shop. With our 1-Hour Optical Lab in The Villages, many prescriptions become new glasses in about an hour instead of a week or two.

First, you pick your frames and lenses with one of our opticians. Ask for a time estimate at that point, so you can plan your hour. Your measurements then go to the lab, where the lenses are cut, edged and set into the frames. After that, an optician fits and adjusts the finished glasses on your face before you leave.
While your lenses are being made, you are welcome to browse the shop or run an errand in the plaza. We will call you when your glasses are ready. If you left your old glasses with us, we can also adjust them so you have a spare.
A simple plan helps the hour go smoothly. First, bring your prescription and your old glasses. Second, pick your frames, and ask the optician for a time estimate. Third, enjoy the plaza while we work, then return when we call.
Your fitting is the last step. The optician checks that the glasses sit evenly, that the lenses line up with your eyes and that nothing pinches. If you need a small change, we make it before you leave. That way you walk out with glasses that already feel right.
Our 1-Hour Optical Lab in The Villages is a good fit for visitors and busy patients, though timing depends on the order.
The people who measure you are down the hall from the people who make your lenses. If something feels off, we can check it right away. It also helps if you are visiting from out of town and cannot wait for a mailed pair. Many of our patients are snowbirds, so a short wait means they can enjoy the season with a clear view.
Local patients benefit too. If a lens needs a small change after you wear it for a day, we can look at it in the same shop where it was made. That saves a long wait for a lab to ship it back.
We say “many glasses” because not every pair can be done in an hour. Timing depends on your prescription, the lens type and what we have in stock. Some specialty lenses take longer. Call (352) 399-5412 with your prescription and we can tell you what to expect.
Our opticians have deep experience. Ibrahim Salman has more than 25 years in the optical field and has run one-hour labs before. LaDonna Olson, a Licensed Dispensing Optician, has more than 23 years with optometry and ophthalmology practices.
When you call, you can ask which opticians are working that day, and we will tell you.
Bring your current prescription, which can come from Dr. Russell or from another doctor. Also bring your old glasses and your insurance cards. If you plan to wait, a book is handy. However, you are also free to leave and come back when we call.
We accept Florida Blue, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Medicare, Cigna, Humana and other plans, and CareCredit. Coverage varies, so call us with your plan name and we will explain what applies to frames and lenses.
The lab also helps with repairs. A bent frame, a loose screw or a loose nose pad is often a quick fix. Drop in during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
After your exam, you get a copy of your prescription. Under the FTC Eyeglass Rule, you may fill it here or anywhere you like.
